Splitwise has loads of very intuitive splitting options per transaction;
- Equally between selected members (auto-calculated)
- By exact amounts (A owes £8.00, B owes £12.00)
- By percentages (A owes 40%, B owes 60%)
- By shares (A owes 2 parts, B owes 3 parts)
- By adjustment (B owes £2.00 more, otherwise equal)
- Itemised bill (with selected members splitting selected items + tax + tip)
I’ve always been vaguely aware that Emma has bill splitting and sharing features, and this thread made me finally curious enough to check it out. But looking at the Split Transaction screen in Emma as it stands today, switching away from Splitwise would not be an option for me in the slightest.
Maybe it’s easy if you’re using this to split two £3.00 coffees with a friend; but splitting e.g. a £61.38 diesel spend between weekday and weekend use (i.e. 5 and 2 shares) is a non-starter. This UI requires far too much mental maths and/or switching to some other app to do calculations, that I would never in a million years bother with it.
