(Most-Wanted) Features

Emma connects to my investment accounts with no detailed information on transactions in those. It would be great if Emma atleast track the balances and give us some kind of monthly/weekly notification on change of balances. Even this simple change in value would help us to understand our balances of investment at the same place rather than accessing to individual bank. e.g. X account beginning balance $100, addition $10, ending balance $110.

Same thing can be done to savings also just to keep the inspiration to save going, it would be great if we get notified for weekly/monthly Saved money.

Yes, we have this issue in CA/US.

However, our partner has released support for investment accounts last month; so the day where you can see all your transactions is not that far down the line.

The only issue is I already have raised some issues with you guys possibly related to plaid and none of them is getting resolved. I doubt they will soon get Any new features so rather relying on 3rd party I have more trust in you guys, it would be great if Emma can play with whatever they have. You already track the balances and even a simple tracker to check the balances differences for each investment account would do a job for you. I can always refer to detailed transactions in bank app if I need to.

In the past I’ve mention that I would like to see an option to combine a transactions. Recently I came across a situtation where I really wish I’d this feature. I subscribe to a service called Stitch Fix, they send me new clothes monthly and for that they charge a styling fee of 20 USD.

If I choose to keep any of the clothes the styling fee subtracted from the total price of the order. Meaning the final order will be ā€˜My shopping cart’ minus ā€˜Styling Fee’. I’d like to combine these two.

When look at my accounts they seem to be sorted according to the balance in each accounts, I’d like to be able to sort them alphabeticly instead.

Also, having to go to the ā€˜Emma Pro’ tab under ā€˜More’ in order to find the features is a little convoluted. You should be able to create custom accounts right from the ā€˜Accounts’ tab. You should also be able to create or edit categories from the window that pops up if you choose to edit the category of a transaction.

When at the ā€˜Feed’ page the section that says how much cash I’ve takes the balance from both my Checking and Savings accounts. I’d like to see them split into two. Cash should only be the ammount of money in my checking. Create a new section underneath called ā€˜Savings’ where you listed all balances in a savings account.

I also want to be able to link transactions. If I look at an incoming transaction in one account that came from another, I want it to show it.

Currently Emma Lists categories on alphabetical basis, it would be great if Emma would list based on how frequently they used. As I have some category I never use it and always have scroll down to the bottom to choose the frequently used ones…One more thing can be added is kind of shading On the category symbol to get some idea on budget used.

It would be great if you could include the option of last 1 year in What did I spend report.

Yes, we never had this because when we started we were importing 6 months to start with. We are now doing 12 months in UK and even more in US (depends from bank to bank); so it actually makes sense to add it again.

Oh ok. While we are on the topic I am wondering how long Emma store my transaction data? For my current app as it is manual and I am already entering data from the last 9 years so Historical data was very important and also very handy when comparing our lifestyle history. As Emma relies on 3rd party company for my bank data, once it comes to Emma will it remain with Emma until I want???

When looking at a transaction if you tap it the name of the merchant should copy to the clipboard so you can throw it into google and work out what it is. Or perhaps better still is you have a small button to google it.

On a similar note it could even link to show your calendar so you could work out where you were.

Do you have lots of ā€œnonsenseā€ strings?

Enough that I spent about 20 mins fixing a load earlier. To be fair, quite a few were old so I needed to jog my memory. Stuff like food trucks and parking machines tend to be full of oddness.

Yes, that makes sense.

I never find the answer when I google them to be honest. ahah

Unless I have missed it I can’t see any way to see all transactions in one category for all time. Can this be added? Thanks

A potential way of doing this is to fully scroll the second level of Analytics (when you click on a category).

We are working on this.

Not sure I see what you mean / I can’t manage it. Thanks

When you go in Analytics and click on a category, you see transactions for the selected period. An alternative would be to add infinite scroll, so you can go back as much as you like for that specific category.

Yes, that would be good
