We lost him. 
In case anyone is interested in this, I have now switched over from my old bank connection to a Monzo connection. As per my concerns above my Chip balance was indeed returned to my old bank (I had no choice in the matter) and so having connected Monzo my Chip balance is now back to £0 and have to start again from scratch!
It sounds a bit ridiculous.

They now have interest paying accounts with FSCS protection, e.g.
Is there still a line of communication between Emma and Chip?
Works be good to see these interest paying accounts inside Emma, not just the original account, which doesnt pay interest.

we talk to them every now and then, but are not interested in this.

I presume a lot of Chip users are utilising the interest account.
