What important features are we missing?

I have been heavily using the budget functionality and I would love to be able to pre-plan for the following month rather than having to wait until the first day of the month.

So when I remember that something is going to come the following month I would go and increase the budget on that category or if I decide that I am not going to spend on something because it is not in the budget this month (and I want to stick to the budget!) but I really want to buy it next month.

Also, sitting at the end of the month with my income and review how I have done on the month and think ahead of the following month how I really want to spend the money and create the budget then and there…

I appreciate the subcategories functionality but have a suggestion to improve visibility for items without one. As an accountant, I use similar software where items lacking a subcategory appear as a “blank” or “other” subcategory. This prompts users to categorise them for consistency across the extra hierarchy if used. Currently I use subcategories but the only way to ensure everything has the sub-hierarchy assigned is to manually review each transaction in the parent category or use search filters. Is it possible to implement a feature where items without subcategories are clearly indicated through a automatic blank sub category or similar

By the way guys, just a quick update from me.

We are going to have your credit score & report in the app in the next couple of weeks - this is ready to go.

We have a few engineers working on these:

  • Pending transactions editing
  • Recurring payments algorithm - this will support recurring income
  • Merchant detection - we are improving our categorisation/detection system

The last three are quite heavy and they are taking a while, but we are close!

Would it be possible when creating a budget to have the categories in the budget screen linkable to the spending analytics of that category. Appreciate there is an average in the budget screen but I often find myself having to go back and fourth between my last month of spending data in analytics and the budget screen to see if my budget is accurate. Welcome any other suggestions from others on this!

Anything on widgets?

Also, would it be possible to add an option in the preferences section for rounding. I.e to the nearest pound so that it rounds all figures rather than showing decimals in analytics, budgeting etc?

I am sure there is an average of spending when creating the budget?

This is currently on pause.

Yes I agree there is an average but this can be skewed quite easily. Can the categories when making the budget not link to the analytics page or even the search transactions page filtering for that category?

Great to get an update, I always appreciate backend changes and improvements

i still think there are some features id love to see which seem like easy wins but could help move people off an excsl sheet

  • bullion tracking (physical gold/silver etc) tracking as an offline investment account so i can put in the new value but it doesnt appear as an additional line and also shows my current return % based on market rate
  • Pension and investment offline account returns so i can put in the value and view the % return against my deposits would be great
  • Home equity tracking i believe this is on the cards but in relation to this would be good to note how many homeowners so for me it would be 2 so equity value is split for each of us

Now that you can pickup mortgage details from the credit report what are the chances that we can have a housing equity added to assets i guess all you need to add in is home price and number of homeowners and then you get an really accurate home equity trend in the assets tab

We are definitely going to add mortgage and loans there.
