What important features are we missing?

That’s great, thanks!

Given that Emma now supports savings pots, with isa and investments on the way, perhaps introducing a feature or a partnership with a service like TaxScouts to help with self-assessments would be nice to have. Especially if a higher tier were to be introduced that bundled together tracking, savings, investments and tax filing.

Hi, are there any updates on providing net worth more than a year? have been a subscriber for years and been looking forward to this feature to track my progress over a longer period of time

Hi @twisty,

No updates on that yet, but I’d love to hear your suggestions. How else can we improve your experience?

Committed Spending.
Any news on providing running totals for committed spend. At the start of the month l can see what is due, at the end of the month l can see what is already paid but during the month l need to manually total when is still due. Could there not be an updated total throughout the month?

Everyday, Net worth etc Graphs.
Is it me or does anyone struggle with these graphs. There are no axis or legends listed and difficult to understand what is good or bad. Ie tracking credit cards I’ve seen far better ways of depicting the data in a more useful format.

Having investments come up as “spending” makes it look like I spend way more than I do on the Income vs Spending bar graph.

Can you add a bar to the graph for savings / investing and remove it from the spending category?

How come you don’t use the excluded category for investments?

Any chance you could show the net worth graph over a long period of time than just 1 year. Being able to see multi-year progress would be helpful for tracking progress / investments

I am new to Emma, having used MyMoneyDashboard in the past. I really thought there would’ve been an annual budget feature. Having done a search through the community I can see this has been mentioned/requested for years.

I did raise a direct ticket on this and the agent came back to me with what I thought was a workaround. But, it was a mixture of too complex to understand and I don’t think it was a satisfactory workaround in any case.

So, the question is, will Emma be moving to annual budgets? Or, am I missing something and they are already there? If they don’t do them I’ll have to go and find another platform as all of our home finances are based entirely on annual budgets

Thanks

Hey @maf20,

you are right, we don’t currently support annual budgets.

These are currently based on the budgeting period you choose to have in Emma (Calendar or Custom).

Annual budgets are something we can support, but we have not found the time to prioritise this feature yet. If you want to check your annual spending by category or merchant, you can do this in Analytics - there is an annual filter there.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’m still not clear if I can do it or not. You say you can support it, but then you say you haven’t found time to prioritise it.

When you say budgeting period, is this a workaround? I did get a reply from an agent with something similar, but I couldn’t seem to follow it.

Please let me know if it’s something I can achieve or not with a workaround and/or potential timescales on the functionality being deployed to the platform

Thanks

We don’t currently support yearly budgets in the app and don’t have an ETA.

As of now - the budgets you setup in Emma can follow the following periods:

You can choose a period when setting budgets the first time or editing them:

If you are keen to know your early spending, you can see this in Analytics - there is a filter available.

Would like sankey diagrams to understand cashflows (fits with current product)
and advanced forecasting like with conquest planning software (this would be a potential new area)

Would it be possible to implement notes within the recurring payments feature. I want to be able to add a note for recurring payments of when they start/end?

@edoardomoreni any news on the committed spend ‘upcoming total’ throughout the month instead of only at the start of the month.

I would like to see a total of the remainder of my committed spend .

We have added in both totals for Upcoming and already paid - they are in the app. We haven’t found a good design to place the third number, but we are looking at this.

Found it - thank you

Hey, wanted to add a +1 for extending the graphs (net worth in particular) for over a year. I’ve been a pro user for many years now and would really benefit from seeing data further back than just 12 months

Don’t know if this has been asked before but two useful features for me (and hopefully others)

  1. Either add pending as a category or in transaction view show the total of pending e.g:

  2. Add pending transactions to the budget donut chart so it would be committed spending, spending and pending.
