I’ve recently upgraded to Emma Pro and added my Vanguard account as an offline one.
What’s the best way to track changes in my portfolio? So far I’ve been changing the account total however it doesn’t seem to update the historical bit.

Would I be better off logging it as a transaction instead?

I log “Investment deposits” (money I put in) and then just have “Adjustment” transactions to adjust the balance on the specific date.

It’s a lot of work though, if you really want to keep track accurately.

What do you have with Vanguard?

Interesting, that sounds about similar to how I was thinking I might approach it.
I have the investments already coming out of my Monzo account so it is kinda tracked within Emma, so I’d need to make sure I don’t cause any duplicates or anything.

With Vanguard I am fully invested into LS100, however I am thinking of switching to the Global All Cap due to the bias towards the UK with LS100.
I also have another Fidelity account that is managed (not one I setup) in a Special Situations fund. Thinking of moving that over to Vanguard too so I have lower fees and everything in a central place.

Hopefully the new Smart Rules feature will make this step even easier and clearer. Shame I’m not on iOS

Smart Rules [Testers needed + Feedback]

We are finally about to release Smart Rules! This is an Emma Pro feature that lets you track movements from linked accounts in Emma to offline resources. A simple example would be the regular transfers I make to my Marcus account. The feature is live on iOS and we are looking for testers to try it. Thinking of moving that over to Vanguard too

I’ve just moved my SIPP over from Fidelity. It looks like Vanguard can move shares in its own funds over without selling/buying again, which is a nice touch

Actually, I’ve figured it out and would advise everyone who would like to see Amazon Credit CarD working to do the same

I gave a call to the FCA to check if I can log a complaint about it. I have been told that I can’t do it straight away, but instead, first I need to log a complaint with the institution itself.

So I did give Amazon Credit Card (NewDay) a call and logged a complaint. You also need to inform them that you may want to escalate the complaint to FCA based on the results of their response.

The support representative was really great. He asked for all the details. I told him that I’m trying to use two budgeting apps (Emma and Money Dashboard) and their OpenAPI doesn’t work at all or work particularly (in MoneyDashboard it doesn’t stay alive and you can’t refresh it via mobile app).

Let’s see how it goes. They promised to get back to me within the next 5 to 10 working days.

IG Trading integration!!!

Hey I am jew to Emma and really enjoying it. Although there is 2 platforms where the majority of my “net worth” is held. The main one being IG Trading. It would be amazing to integrate that if possible into the Emma app.

The second is moneybox so hopefully they release the API for that very soon

It’s a trading platform for stocks and shares ect. Me and all my colleges use it. I like it because its free, very low commission and very easy to use!

Why does Yolt have so many more accounts available for integration compared to Emma?

Used to use the free version of Yolt and moved to the paid version of Emma for the ability to customise categories for easier budgeting.

It’s kinda sad to see a few accounts in Yolt that I have that I cannot get on Emma.

Curious how Yolt can have these integrations and Emma does not…

Jaja have just bought them out, fintech credit card company so I am hoping them and Emma can get integrated sometime soon.

My NewDay card is getting closed soon anyway.

Jaja don’t seem to have an open banking API.

Not sure why not. I thought all payment account providers were supposed to have one months ago???
