Yes, they will release Open Banking access to Current + Savings accounts.

OB comes with a 90 days login window - meaning that you still need to re-authenticate, but at least not every day and also the flow is app to app - this means you don’t need to type any credentials, just a bunch of buttons.

Does this mean it will be essential to have first-party bank apps on our phone?

Other than for my main current account and credit card I prefer to avoid having first party bank apps on my phone.
