Iāve got a beginner question⦠AI Savings? Assume itāll use the read only access for round ups etc. Would be cool if we could have chat commands too, been fun doing it on Chat GPT with their new custom option where you can add APIās.
Yes, this is coming Q1 - we have everything ready and itās the next big feature.
Interesting not quite sure how it would work, any examples or demos you could share
To start with, it will be a direct debit from your main bank account to the Emma Wallet.
We can then decide to route this money into any pots you select.
@sean.read was probably referring to savings rules and we can potentially build as many as we like.
What if the āSnoopā aspect were spliced? For example, if I spent an average of Ā£100 a month at Deliveroo, AI savings could be implemented to round up transactions. Additionally, it could monitor cashback from the affiliate roster and provide custom vouchers for certain types of members.
Yes, we are going to make our cash back a bit more āpresentā throughout the app. At this point, itās not really visible and in terms of āAI savingsā, we have the whole infrastructure setup, so we just need to design / build.
I hope we can get this out in January / February. Our other top priority is to refactor how we sync with bank accounts, so that we can make them faster if you have lots of bank logins; so we need to decide which one is coming first, but thatās what we have in the short term.
Personally the speed improvements would be welcomed over anything else i have quite a few logins so just faster refreshing would be helpful
Got it! Weāre actively working on speeding up refresh times.
HELP!
I have one bank account linked to Emma. It doesnāt recognise my savings account, so I canāt link that. My bank account has standing orders transferring set amounts monthly into that savings account for different things (such as car repairs, vet savings, etc).
I started by including those amounts in my āspendā budgets for each thing (for instance, car repairs along with my budget for fuel).
However I now realise that means if I spend that money Iāve put aside, then Emma considers itās been āspentā twice - so for example with the car, it counts the money leaving once at the withdrawal to my other bank account, and then again at the mechanics!
How should I get around this please??
I have 3 envelopes to consider - spending budgets, saving budgets, and general bill budget. My situation is such that I often have to raid my saving budgets and donāt want Emma counting it twice!
Hey @Vikki,
any internal transfer should sit in your excluded category.
If you want to budget in Emma, focus on what you really need to spend and track that - everything extra you can assume itās saving and doesnāt need to be budget tracked.
Hi. Iām sure this is in the small print somewhere but ā¦.
I transferred money into a new pot this morning via the Emma app. Easy. Done.
I then decided I wanted to add more so tried to open the Emma wallet and add funds to that but kept getting a fail message from RBoS. So I went old school and set up the Emma wallet bank account on my actual RBS app and then transferred money. I see the deposit sitting in the transactions as a deposit on Emma now but the balance still reflects 0. Why?! Makes no sense to me! If itās not instant theres kinda no point and Iād be as well setting up a savings account with my main bank.
Thanks!
Hi!
Apologies for that! Iāve informed our support team about this issue, and theyāll need to investigate the reason for the rejection. Please contact them via the app or our website.
Let me know if I can assist with anything else. Have a fantastic weekend ahead!
Hi. Iāve created pots in Emma and added money into them but now I canāt see the money in those pots showing up in my categories. Also, whenever I create a single pot, the app creates 2 pots but one is empty.
How do I get the pots to appear in savings ?
Can you message live chat? We can check this.
Was in the wrong space Edo. Solved it by just having one space
No problem!
Can I ask about AI savings? I know as the name implys it uses AI for autosave but is there any guidance of how much money it would take? I know itās configured for a weekly savings.
I feature of this I would love to see is a single monthly saving that happens on payday based on the remaining money left in your account before your income.
So for example if I had Ā£100 left before I got paid, this would be split across my pots based on the percentages Iāve set.
Yes, this is approximately 3% of the available balance at any given time.
We have just launched the feature and itās quite conservative since we donāt want the algorithm to put the account in overdraft. Some of you might even notice we skip collections if we are not confident we can take the £££.
We are working to extend this to custom amounts and periods since we have seen interest.
I have started to use Emma invest and love that I can have a go at investing without the complexity.
One thing Iām unsure about is the money source. I have just setup a repeat buy for a stock monthly. Can this money come directly from my bank account or does it have to come from Emma Wallet?
Hi @Thomasaiwilcox,
thanks for asking the question!
The cash will need to come out from your Emma Wallet - we do this so you have full control over the orders. The app will notify you if there is no balance available.
If you want to start accumulating a balance in the Emma Wallet - you can do so with our new Autosave features.
