Soon, we’ll be coming to the end of the 2021 year and I feel that I’m missing something and it’s probably there in the app because it seems so obvious that the app should have this?
I would like the ability to be able to download to an excel spreadsheet or a PDF - a whole year’s totals based on the monthly analytics - for example, I’d love to see how much I spent on food shopping in 2021 and so on. Rather than manually counting each month.
I’d even love to download a monthly report that I can share with my wife.
in Emma Pro, you can find the ability to export csv reports for specific periods.
The reports have transactions included, so you would need to do a bit of Spreadsheet work to make them work in the way you want (yearly totals for example).
I found this export very easy to use, simply adding a sort to the category and supplier, and then subtotals. However an end of year analytics report would be good, an all year, most expensive month, too 5 spend merchants, most expensive day of the week…
Imagine the scenario - two partners / spouses sit down and talk about their finances over the year - and want to plan how to save more money or cut down on expenditure. Right now to do this you have to scroll across many screens to analyse everything and to count the totals etc.
If one were able to print nice comprehensible reports with the overall data over different periods of time, it would be a huge time-saver as we can sit down together and go over the reports without having to use a mobile phone between two people?
Does that not make sense? I can’t believe that this is not a massive request?
Well, we need to add Totals in Search so that you can create any reports you want and maybe even export them. I am not sure if you have seen but Search is really powerful you can even do “All the payments between £5 and £10 in 2021 from McDonald’s and Burger King”.
In the past, we have had a lot of requests for the csv. Reports tend to be very custom to the specific users and people like to play with data, so on our side it’s a bit hard to guess what you want to see.
