I believe they are making a business connection, even if you have a competing product building connections should be part of it.
The product speaks for itself connection wont change peoples minds on the service

Youāve also got to consider some people are very anal about their accounts, I used to have people come in to the bank I used to work at with a varied demographic who would purpose withdraw out the pennies, this mindset follows into other spectrums of finance, you may be surprised of an uptick if itās only a toggle. 
Some people really do live by the saying āIf you look after the pennies, the pounds will look after themselvesā 
Their terms say this, has anyone reached out to Trading 212 for consent to use the API? I maybe misunderstanding though, and it probably still doesnāt matter if itās a personal only API
6.3. You acknowledge that should you develop applications that use our API and that are
intended to be used by other end-users, you should obtain the prior written consent of
Trading 212 that may be given on our sole discretion and on a case-by-case basis. Should
an application using our API be launched without Trading 212ās consent, the access to the API
shall be terminated immediately without prior notice. Furthermore, you agree that you will
not develop any applications that:
a. are fraudulent or misleading;
b. infringe on any third partyās intellectual property rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
c. are defamatory, trade libellous, threatening, or harassing;
d. contain any viruses or other computer programming routines that may damage,
detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system or
data;
e. replicate or attempt to replace the essential user experience of the Services or any of
our other products or services; or
f. otherwise violate any applicable law.
Trading212 doesnāt have an API to connect and is not required to have one by law. The technology we use is Open Banking and it covers āpayment accountsā; so the brokerage account doesnāt fall into this definition.
They might have something for their new debit card (we can take a look), but thatās about it.

Personally Iād love to use their new debit card, the only thing stopping me is Emma support

Would sign up to their new card, but the 1.5% cashback is only available until January.
Is there any update on this? I just open account with the for their Cash ISA which rate is unbeatable at the moment and would like to keep tracking with Emma. Thanks

What if the connection built was personal for everyone and we just generate an API key to use from the Emma app?
Really id like to just see an uptodate balance in investments.
Could emma not just act as a client for my āpersonal useā?
if I put my api key into Emma, it could update my investments balance.
I appreciate you have a competing product, but your budgeting features are why Iām a customer, Emma is my financial dashboard, Iād like it to see all my accounts, the fact it is advertising investments or savings accounts to me is actually something I dislike about it.
rather than offering its own products competing with the potential partners, perhaps Emma could offer comparisons or something? Perhaps it could suggest how much Iād save by being with a different bank or trading service based on my data? That would actually be useful for me.
