I have a weird issue where my budget has rolled over but it shouldnt have since i have a number of payments which were pending at the end of the period but have now come through and ive gone over budget but the rolling budget amount hasnt updated you can see it shows +£79 when in reality it should be -£111
I would have imagined after my payments came out of pending then my rolling budget amount should also update
Hi @Vladanm999,
can you message live chat?
I guess these payments have settled in the new pay period? Since we don’t take into account pending transactions - this might be the case and there isn’t much to do apart from re-adjusting the budget.
Let me know if I have understood this correctly.
The payments were dated in the previous period so Saturday 25th Oct but have been pending until today and have settled after the nee budget period started they still fall in the previous period and show in the previous period categories so id expect them to then update the current period rolling information after they have settled
If they settle in the next period, they will count there unfortunately. Is this the issue?
I dont believe so, they have settled after the new period started but the transaction dates themselves are in the previous period.
Example
Finance budget period starts 28th month
i bought something on the 26th
it has been pending until the 29th of the month
After transaction is settled the transaction date shows as the 26th
therefore it hasnt been included in the rolling calculation budget nor does it appear in my current budget. As it was pending when the new period started after it has settled i would expect the rolling budget to recalculate as the transactions have settled in the previous budget period
Yes, we have checked this with the engineers and has to do with the settlement; rolling budgets are not re-calculated after the transactions settle unfortunately.
I see, i do think that is a bit unintuitive since the last 2-3 days basically dont count when it comes to budget rollover which over the course of a month is ~10% of my spend in theory could not count as part of the rollover which seems a bit odd. I dont think manual editing is the right solution, it would be good if the rolllover just recalculated once all the transactions are settled. Or the rollover recalculated on refresh like the other budget or analytics information
