Would the other person also need to be using Emma, or would it just create a payment link like starling
Yes,
the payments work with links, so the other person taps on the links and gets redirected to Emma.
It works in the same way as any other P2P network and to be honest it’s much easier in this way.
I doubt people add their debit card details on a random page to pay someone who has Starling/Monzo.
This is Monzo
I am going to add a demo here by the end of the day.
Excited for transfers. Will make my payday routine so so so much easier
Hey everyone
We’re nearly ready to release P2P payments!
Before we do, we’d love it if a few people could help us test it out?
If you’d like to help us test this, please drop your emma.to link below

Let us know when you’ve all had a chance to play around with the feature - any initial thoughts/ issues/ improvements that could be made?

I just tried the new Pay function, but the app wanted access to my contact list, which I’d rather not do. Also, did I read right that whoever I want to pay needs to have Emma app setup and configured on their end too, before they can receive any money from me? Not sure this a function I’ll be using.
Also, the search in transactions doesn’t seem to work properly for me now? When I type in something in the text filter at the top, the text is invisible?
Yes, the feature is Peer to Peer payments, so we need to find your friends to request/send money.
Yes, otherwise we don’t know where to send the money.
Can you ping support in live chat?
We are going to add bank transfers soon too.
@edoardomoreni Great to see payments added to Emma - I think being a PISP adds huge value to your existing AISP capabilities. Have you considered other use cases for payment initiation, such as Request to Pay? It would be great to be able to see all my bills in Emma and be in control of when and how to pay them!
Request to Pay is a government-led initiative:

The trouble with initiating a Faster Payment directly from your bank app is that you need to manually type in destination account number, sort code and reference info - without making any mistakes! Faster Payments transaction is final and cannot be recalled or refunded like a Direct Debit. Through Emma, you will land in the banking app with all the details pre-populated, saving you from making a mistake.
Yes,
right now P2P support request/send. We are also adding QR codes.
At this time, we are building bank transfers and we’ll use the same technology to top up Pockets and Investment Accounts.
Yep and the user on the other side has already decided where they want the money.
