🏠 New: track your mortgage and loans in your net worth

Banks don’t share mortgages and most loans through open banking, so until now you had to add them to Emma by hand. Emma can now find your mortgage, personal loans and car finance on your credit report and add them to your net worth. Balances update automatically each time your credit report refreshes.

How to turn it on (Emma Pro and above, UK only, app version 5.26.1 on iOS or 1.45.1 on Android, or later):

  1. Turn on your credit score in Emma.
  2. Go to Net worth or your Credit report.
  3. Tap “Add to net worth” on the “Track debts in your net worth” card.

If you already added any of these debts as offline accounts, delete them so they aren’t counted twice. To turn the feature off, go to Credit report and tap the settings icon in the top right.

I like the idea but there is a few things i think needs tidying before the feature becomes really useful for me

  • i think adding home value so you can track equity rather than just the mortgage makes more sense. So let me set my house at ÂŁ500k and then track the mortgage so I can see the real equity otherwise looks like my net worth is negative all of a sudden
  • Be able to add how many owners there are, i bought the house with a partner so the equity should be split evenly between us. Simple as just adding a variable for number of home owners and divide by this
  • Backdate the data, i haven’t checked this part but setting when we bought the house so the net worth chart doesn’t look insane with a huge dip or jump all of a sudden would be great
