How often do you check Emma?

I check throughout the day and prefer to manually refresh the app so that I can update my spending categories instantly. I’m really trying to keep on top our our budget but my wife thinks it’s too much.

How often do you check Emma?

I usually check several times everyday, especially when I receive the balance notification in the morning. Just like to know where I am and also love seeing my saving going up. But when I’m busy probably just once a day. I think if you just started using Emma it’ll be more exciting to check more!

This is a great question!

I open Emma about 500 times a day but I probably don’t count because I work here haha… In terms of opening it to check my budgets and spending, I find that once a day is enough for me

Once a day for me usually. I use the morning notifications as my prompt.

Twice daily in morning and in evening usually check Emma the spending categories I’m loving

I, too, use the morning prompt for the first check, and then a couple of times throughout the day

Deploying releases, git pulls, and UAT doesn’t count

2-3 times a day. I have a lot of things to keep an eye on currently so I like to keep an eye on my various balances to remind myself where I’m at.

2-3 times a week.

My accounts don’t sync up that quickly anyway. I have transactions from 5 days ago that are posted in online banking (Scotiabank in Canada). But they don’t show up even as pending in Emma. I understand it is what it is when you are using external provider for syncing. No complaints. They will sync eventually.

But how do you keep your “you opened Emma X days in a row” streak up without opening it every day?! :joy:

Hey Jase, I see you know more about me than I do. I guess I do click on notifications sometimes. I normally turn them off for most of the apps. I didn’t do it with Emma’s yet. I am still checking if they are useful. I just installed Emma a month ago.

Is it a month ago, @jase ?

Ha ha I genuinely don’t know. I check Emma each day and it increases my “x days since you checked” metric and I enjoy it.

Gamification helps me in my daily life commit to things. I just wish it worked for everything

There are so many games in contemporary life. Hard to choose. Emma actually is a great example of it. With so many personal finance apps on the market. People will choose the one that’s fun and easy. Emma guys definitely got that one right. :champagne:

I open Emma at least once a day - usually after a notification has prompted me to do so.

While I do find Emma useful and potentially a must-have budgeting/financial management app, I do still heavily rely on my old Microsoft Money 05 program - even though the online services had stopped working years ago, it’s still an amazing tool to use which I need no subscription for.

With Emma, I’m hoping this app will develop into an app which can offer all I use my Money program for, plus so much more via the subscription service, and across multiple devices (obviously the money program I’m running on an old laptop, whereas my phone is always with me and is the most used device).
