Which companies have you invested in?
Nothing in fintech space yet.
Latest was Fullgreen (I think still open though must be closing soon) Fullgreen | EIS Crowdfunding Investment | Seedrs
Possibly as far from fintech as you can get
Haha from food to finance! Were you a fan of this company already or did you find them through Seedrs?
I have used their products for a while, though there are certainly other things Iāve found via crowdfunding sites where I havenāt invested but have become a customer!
So, what would you say are the top things youād need to know before you invested in a crowdfund?
Adding to the comments above, financials, app conversion rate. How many of the 100k customers are paying customers. Other sources of income.
Product roadmap to understand the direction of the company. What the money is going to be used for?
Exit strategy and valuation vs cost of shares.
Understanding the team and the current shareholders. Market position and competition.
Lots of questions!
Have you invested in other crowd rounds before? From what we have seen, the numbers arenāt always visible.
@edoardomoreni I agree in that more recently the numbers have not been added into crowdfunding. Some do include projections.
So far Iāve invested in over 11 crowdfunded businesses with one successful exit and no bankruptcy yet.
Yes,
I totally agree.
@rebekah Iām not an expert on the subject so I prefer to not give any advice. Iām just a software engineer with an economics background and, although I worked in the field for a while, I was always involved more on the technical side, sorry
Thanks for your replies @jase @solcache @antoniorossi - all good to know
Iām sure most of you here will be pretty familiar with crowdfunding, but for anyone that isnāt weāve written a new post for the Emma Blog that explains what crowdfunding is, how it works, and what some of the benefits are

Heyyy
Weāre interested to know⦠has there been any crowdfunding videos that have made you want to invest straight away? If yes, what did you like about them?
Haha ok true
Agree with this, itās always nice to see whoās behind a company. In terms of passion and putting your face to a company what do you think about this videoā¦
Happy Friday everyone!
New on the Emma blog is a round-up of 18 of the most common words and phrases used in reference to crowdfunding.

Can you think of any more that we might have missed?
I wouldnāt be interested in Emma. While I do think itās a great idea and helpful service in many ways I canāt see it ever making a considerable profit with the current approach.
What approach makes money for you?
Diversification in businesses with attractive return opportunities and either a track record of profitability, a clear long term vision (that I believe in). Or preferably both.
Thanks for your feedback.
Weāll see the result in a couple of weeks.
