Hi - Is it possible for 2 phones to log into the same Emma account? If so, how do I do it?
You can access your Emma account from web/mobile, so if you use the same login details, you are able to do this. If you want to share some specific accounts with your partner, Emma Spaces might be a better option: Emma Spaces | Emma App
Hi - thanks for the info on Spaces. Spaces isnāt really appropriate for this scenario - we are a married couple with joint accounts - we donāt want to pay for 2 Emma subscriptions, we just want to be able to see the same info on each of our phones.
So is there no way for 1 account and a single log in to be shared between 2 devices then?
If you have an Emma ultimate subscription, anyone you share a space with will have Emma Pro features available for said space, even if they are on a free plan. So one of you can pay for ultimate, and the other can have a free account but both be able to manage the shared Emma space with Pro features.
Thanks @Jago - thatās really useful to know. Iām not sure I need all the other ultimate features though, so itās likely that the cost is going to make the app not suitable.
Simply allowing us to create a log in not tied to a device / profile / number would allow users a lot more flexibility, and possibly increase the uptake of subscriptions.
It does feel that the features at the different levels of subscription are set up to force users onto a higher subscription plan, rather than wing focussed on what the users actually need. Which is a shame, as this looks like a really useful app.
Hi,
Iām curious as to what others do when two slaries are paid into the budgeting account but on different dates? e.g. My wifeās is paid on the 28th of every month & mine the last working day of the month but i have my budget set to the last working day of the month to refresh. It means when my wife gets paid its added into the current budgeting period and gets confusing as to how much we have left in the budget. I like to know exactly how much we have left so that the day before my budget restarts I can move that left over to our savings account.
Is there a solution for this?
Hi @Richatha, thanks for reaching out!
Are you referring to the Analytics screen? Our budgeting function doesnāt really count income, so it should have no impact.
If this is the case - what about setting it to calendar months (1st/31st)?
Hey,
thanks for replying. Its the balance and the analytics screen yes. Can you elaborate on it doesnāt count income? Does that mean if i pay for something for say Ā£1000 and i transfer Ā£1000 in from another account it doesnāt do anything until i move it into a category e.g. shopping as thatās where i put the Ā£1000 spend against?
Hi @Richatha,
in the app we have to features:
- Analytics - the square on the left
- Budgeting - the square on the right
These are in the Feed under your most recent transactions.
Analytics tracks income vs spending and shows the category spend; while Budgeting tracks spending.
I donāt think this situation has any impact on the budgeting side of thing; you might get the analytics skewed a bit and Iād suggest switching to ācalendar monthsā.
I have created my own pot for future expenses. When I create a future expense I am then unable to edit the amount. I also think there should be a way of being able to deduct a real transaction against the future expense so that it disappears/reduces once the future expense has actually taken place
Hey!
Could you provide some clarity on what exactly youāre doing, and I should be able to assist.
The Pots feature is a savings account, how are you using it for future expenses?
Iāve not yet signed up but would like to know if Emma can help me. I have a house renovation project which Iād like to track the budget and spending for. I want to have a total budget which I can ātop upā from time to time, with categories that the money is allocated to. Then I want to track spending in each category, see whatās coming in under / over budget and reallocate funds where needed. Would Emma be able to help with this? Which version would I need and which specific features?
Hi,
Iām new to the app and have the Pro version. Iāve sent up bank account feeds and these are working well, albeit I need to categorise.
Iām now looking at creating a budget. I have some large one off expenditures coming up (eg furniture, home improvements etc) I know when I should budget these (ie which month) and for how much, but I cannot see how to include these in a specific month in the budget.
I can see this has been discussed a few times in the forum but I canāt find a solution. Please advise how to do this
Hey @Ingra,
budgets are set for the current period, so I am not sure theyād fit in a scenario where you are trying to budget for something 6 months in advance. With this said, Iāve seen some people using rolling budgets for this.
I think Emma Pro should cover all your needs and also unlock āCustom categoriesā for you.
Hiya,
Another newbie question! When Iāve linked my bank accounts I got 12 months of data from my bank but only 3 from my credit card. Is there a way of providing the older transactions, either a CSV upload or manually adding to the bank account?
Alternatively, Is there a workaround I can do?
