I have set up three rules. One failed to do anything a couple of days ago. Of the two that should trigger today, one has worked and one has not.
Any suggestions for working out why one worked but the others didnāt?
Hard to know without seeing the rules. The only bit you have to set manually is the reference, so maybe check it matches the text right at the bottom of the transactions youāre trying to pick up.
It would be great if we could select relevant transactions, instead of having to enter the reference manually.
Also, are you trying to catch pending transactions?

Just had another look at this and, in fact, the reference is there, itās just taking a long time to load in some cases - I think while accounts are syncing. So it looked like it wasnāt there on some transactions
Edit: also I should have said, good work on this! Itās a killer feature. There are hiccups still, of course, but itās already proving very useful! from me

Is it possible to add text from āDetailsā to a smart rule? As an example I move money to my Savings Bank account from Monzo - the reference in the app (grey text) is just my name, but that is not actually a reference (description) that Iāve put in Monzo, which is āMonzo to Marcusā that appears in the details text in Emma. I have other transactions to other accounts in Monzo that have my name in reference, which would be confusing for smart rule as it would add those as well. Can we add text from details when the smart rule is created?
I just came back to this thread to ask exactly the same question! In fact, I think Emma ignores Details when analysing subscriptions too. Iām not sure why.
In my case, I have two Direct Debits that go out to two different Vanguard accounts. The reference (or whatever weāre calling the text at the bottom of the transactions - the terminology is confusing!) is āVanguardā in both cases, but the Details text shows me which account the money is going into. So, itās trivial to identify the correct account, but only if you look at the Details.
Is there any issue with adding Details as an extra filter option for these rules?
The DDs are at slightly different times, but unfortunately they sometimes happen at the same time because of a weekend, so the Advanced Filter date option doesnāt work. I could try changing one of the DDs to a different date.
Hey , Iāve had support enable this for me but it doesnāt appear to working (fully accept me not knowing what Iām doing ).
I have a car finance payment that comes out around the 1st. I set the reference as the transaction displays at the bottom, set the amount to be within range of how much it is and set the date to be beginning of the month. Payment came out today, the ref looks the same still, but I didnāt see the transaction get created within the offline account.
Is there anything Iāve missed? Happy to provide screenshot of the rule setup and transaction if needed.

I donāt believe so, monzo isnāt telling me its pending so I assume its not
Oh, it would say in Emma if it was still pending. I think the rules are only applied to final transactions.

Hmm no donāt see pending in Emma. To confirm is it the text under details or the grey text in small at the bottom of a transaction? Iām using the text at the bottom but monzo auto fills the details bit with a different name. Maybe thats it?
AFAIK, the Details bit is completely ignored. Itās the stuff in capitals at the bottom that counts
