As someone whos payday is somewhat irregular emma doesnt have the option I need
For me payday is the 28th or last friday of the month whichever is earlier
This is quite odd but it would be good if there was a button to basically end the budgeting period early manually or something similar so when i get paid on those weird days my budgets and analytics will be correct.
This is actually a nice idea; it could work for Christmas too if people get paid early.
Definitely it lets emma handle 99% of cases then I still have control to end it if I need. We have the feature in our work accounting software and i thought that would be ideal for my personal finance too
I get paid weekly, so the budget isn’t showing correctly for me as there is no option for weekly pay.

I can set budgeting to weekly. When I did this before it didn’t seem to take in to account I get paid weekly. Ive just changed it and now it my budget forecast is wrong. Its saying I have £3500 left of my budget for this week, which I don’t as I have to pay bills at the end of the month, and I don’t have that amount of money anyway. Very confused!

If you set your pay period weekly, you need to set all the budgets weekly; you can’t use monthly budgets with a weekly period.
Further, I think you would have a week where you’d always go over budget since you need to pay for the bills.
In these cases, I’d always recommend to stick to monthly budgeting.

Another option I thought of is connecting emma to a payment essentially since my salary comes from the same place every time it could automatically detect that i’ve been paid early and suggest to end the budget early.
So when you are setting you budget period you could enable auto budget detection by selecting what is your salary from the transaction list and it picks it up the same way that it does for the regular payments
