Integration with ChatGPT / AI Models

I know that there’s a big hype around AI, where people try to put the word AI everywhere, often without much reason…

But I’ve been using both ChatGPT (personal use) and Claude (coding for work) and am more and more impressed with the capabilities of these models.

Around 2-3 times a month I do a review of my finances, where I go over all my transactions, categorize, add notes, etc, and I was thinking that a lot of what I do could be automated with ChatGPT.

A couple of examples:

  • Amazon purchases: I could feed the list of orders for the period I’m reviewing and it could add notes about what it was and categorize.
  • Deliveroo: similar thing. Even though most times Deliveroo is “Eating Out” category, I sometimes place a small Groceries order for something I need quickly. If I fed the model all my orders, it could categorize everything for me.

In the past I thought about posting here to ask for integration with Merchants like these. I thought the idea was good… Emma could import information from your Amazon / Deliveroo account. But even if you set up the infra well, with good, generic abstractions, that’s still likely a lot of work and I know how many things you have on your plate..

But if you set up an integration with ChatGPT, I could create workflows where I teach the model to categorize things certain ways, given the necessary information.

thanks for opening this thread!

We have started some usage and we do integrate with the OpenAI API for import of csv files in offline accounts; we use the API to detect the CSV fields without asking customers to upload a pre-formatted file.

We believe there are many more use cases and I am pretty sure we’ll implement more as we go. :wink:

I haven’t, but now that I’ve been using AI assistants more and more, it’s something that I would REALLY like to have, because I’m certain that it would save me a lot of time spent on “manual” tasks (e.g. adding notes, tags, etc).

So for now, there are no short-term plans to provide AI integration for reading or updating transactions?

Please let us know here when there’s anything on the horizon!

We are considering them - I think the biggest fears at this stage is to have the AI to hallucinate and provide wrong information.
