There was a big focus last week on adding new cashback brands to the U.S side of Emma - check the app to view all these new brands, or see some of our new favourites here

Aldi would be great!!

Agree! Although I don’t think you can buy food online at the moment can you?

That’s true, I would like to start using cash back but have never used an app/website for it so I forgot that key part :joy: How about Comet, they offer Klarna so for high price electricals that would outweigh me using them over curry’s!

I remember them going bust years ago. Didn’t realise they had relaunched!

Hi Emma team,
I wonder if you can help.

I have used the cashback options for a few purchase since March 2021.
1 has come through fairly quickly from AO.com and has been credited.
The other two are still pending with the sums showing on the pending screen.
From reading the descriptions on the screen and the Cashback FAQ, I know some time needs to pass first before the cashback is credited because retailers want to wait if items are returned.

For both pending transactions, the returns periods have long passed.
I checked, Currys PC World has a max. period of 30 days; I purchased the item on 24th March, it was delivered 28th March.
Second item from Serenata Flowers, they have a returns complaints policy of just 5 days because the items are perishable. Ordered in 22nd July for a delivery on 26th July.

So for both transactions, the waiting period has passed but the cashback has not been credited.
The Currys one feels like a lifetime ago and would tip me over the £5 threshold for the payout.

For some reason I don’t seem to be able to add screenshots otherwise would show you the credited and the pending screens with the details. Maybe somebody can help, I’ll then add them.

Please can you help… it would be nice to see the money finally come through to me if it’s just waiting at Emma’s end…

Thanks

Not sure @jase.
Both missing cashback transacions show on the pending transactions tab with the amount owed, and the third one from AO.com has been credited.
It’s a bit odd really and I am wondering it it’s just stuck somewhere on Emma’s end :confounded:

Free cash is still free cash!

Am planning to try the cashback for the first time.

When you click a cashback link, it opens a browser within the Emma app. Do you have to complete the purchase within this browser for the purchase to be tracked, or can you copy the link into another browser?

Yes

I often forget Emma has a cashback feature (I never go into the Save tab). Perhaps you should consider a cashback widget for the Feed tab, especially now that you provide users with the ability to show/hide individual widgets.

We are considering linking this with transactions in a non intrusive way, so you can see if we support the merchants you spend at.

We used to have a widget in Feed, but we are trying to separate the app in themes and right now Feed is Tracking, so we don’t want to add other elements.

I agree it’s a bit hidden in Save.

Is this going to be similar to the way cheddar works where it just doe’s cashback automatically and don’t need to go through a portal to claim the cashback?

You mean similar to the messages you put below energy and broadband transactions promoting your switching/comparison service? This could be useful. It would probably mean I would be less likely to forget about it. But you might get some people annoyed by it if you don’t provide the ability to disable it.

I suppose a cashback widget could be seen as tracking if it tracked the amount of cashback you have earned, but yes I see what you mean.

Yes, something at the bottom or midway - we are looking into this.
