Auto-export to Google Sheets

As someone said previously “I expect (like myself) a lot of users want to export data and have some external analysis.” At the moment do we need to export the data every month and then reapply all the analysis or import the data again into a Google sheets/Excel dashboard.

Monzo has a great export feature where Monzo can automatically export transaction data to Google Sheets for users with Monzo Plus, Monzo Premium, or Monzo Business Pro/Team. This allows for real-time updates and analysis of spending habits within Google Sheets. Monzo exports automatically into a google sheets called Monzo Transactions and my dashboard updates automatically.
The problem with Monzo is that it only export Monzo transactions and not linked accounts.

Please can Emma provide an auto feed of all transactions to a named Google Sheets, say Emma Transactions. Keep it simple (KISS) by including all transactions with all data. We can easily filter exclude etc in Sheets.

I’d love to do this and it’s in our roadmap; the reason why it’s not out yet is because transactions tend to disappear/appear again (especially pending ones). Monzo can do this because they own the full-stack (they are a bank).

An easy way, for us, to do this is by excluding pending - at least to get started.

I’d be very happy with that, even in the long term

Yes!

We are going to take a look - we are also improving the current export functionality and extend this to spaces.

Hey guys,

we are going to start building this from next week and should be out by the end of the month!

On top of the live data export, we worked on some major improvements for the manual version; these are rolling out as I type. The new manual export UI looks like this:

This allows for custom selection of spaces/accounts and periods.

Hey guys,

we have an engineer working on this; we finished the backend, we are now building the frontend. We’ll probably be done by next week.

I am pushing them to get this done. :grimacing:

It shouldn’t take this long.

This is coming out next week as well as csv imports in the app.

This is fully live!

Excited for this. Although its not clear in the marketing emails and announcement how and where in the app the update is found.

This is great. Where in the app do we find live export please?

Hi @EdWatson,

this is the same place as the current export.

You can find it in Settings → Account.

Thanks - not on mine it’s not. I’m on Android v1.33.3

I’ll keep looking out for updates…

Much appreciated

The latest version is 1.34.1. Alternatively, you can join the beta group on Google Play.

Doesn’t seem to be working for me. Linked my Google account yesterday, a blank sheet showed up but stayed blank. A few hours later I deleted the connection and sheet and reenabled the service, more than 20 hours later still no data in the file.

Can you message live chat? There is an edge case with customers that have Spaces with special characters in the name of the space. We are fixing it today.

I did a day ago, no one has come back to me yet.

I don’t have any spaces.. but still no data on the google side.

Export fixed and working now.

Would it be possible to add a sheet with the actual account names, types (checking/savings/investment), provider (institution name) and most importantly - the balances? Asking because the balance cannot be inferred from the transactions list since sometimes there isn’t an opening balance transaction.
