I feel unhappy about how you promote your refer-a-friend offer. I received Edoardo’s email regarding 1 Friend £50 offer yesterday. I thought it’s a good offer and then invited friends to join but then found the precondition of the new user becoming a paid user is hiding in the T&C which couldn’t be easily seen.
I feel very disappointed and being taken advantage of. I myself am a paid user having a good impression on Emma until yesterday. Now I feel your growth target (pushed by VC?) outweighed your customer’s experience, especially when this was sent from CEO’s email.
Hi @igrasia firstly let me welcome you to the community.
I too received this but given the higher value, assumed it would require the referred party to sign up and pay for Emma Pro as I had done.
It was however odd to suddenly see this coming from a founders email account. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I don’t think this was the case previously.
Like what Gaoler suggested above, perhaps the CEO message could be clearer?
It is not about whether Emma can afford to pay £50 for a new free user, it is about being crystal clear about the condition of getting the referral rewards to avoid disappointment after the user has done the work.
Sorry I might not be as smart as you, or I was spoiled by emails sent by other companies who assume their clients know nothing. I received an email from Revolut today elaborating what a user shall do to be eligible for an offer. That’s something I can understand.
