Millions of people in England are expected to face a 5% increase in their council tax bills starting from 1 April. The Government has confirmed that this is the maximum rise most local authorities will be allowed to implement.
For those with a typical band D bill, this translates to an additional payment of around £100 per year. However, the precise increases for each area are still pending confirmation.
