Hi. When setting budgets it would be useful when changing one budget that the overall total reflects the sum of the individual budgets. There should be an option to override.
We wanted to keep the total budget and the combined total of your category budgets independent to maintain flexibility. Some users (myself included) may only want to budget for one or two categories but have an overall budget.
To work around this, you should see when setting your budgets the ‘Category Budget Total’. If you want your total budget to equal the combined total of your category budgets, just copy this number into your total budget field.
