I’ve been thinking about the quote “Don’t go broke trying to look rich. Act your wage” and so was wondering what tips people had for living within their means?
Whenever I’ve had a raise or changed jobs, I put most of the extra money I would be getting into savings/investments.
That way I end up having roughly the same “fun” spending each month.
Obviously, I do give my self a slight increase in that too.
Yessss this is a great idea
And yeah you’re definitely allowed to splurge a little after your first increased paycheck
Have you tried budgeting using the 50/30/20 method? I think that’s another good way that you can keep your spending in check after a pay rise!
